First tropical forest experiences

Talking about Borneo, first thing that everybody will thinking about is "Full with Trees", second is "Lot of Bugs", third is "OMG,Head Hunter!". Well, I have to say first and second are right but the third thing I have to say "sorry buddy, you are too late for head hunter era".

I like the scene inside the tropical forest, it is cooling too. Sometime when I and the lab assistant finish doing survey and it still early, we will lie down and take a nap, ha ha ha... Its fun somehow, just watch out the ants, you don't want end up become an 'antman'! See some weird bugs crawling around, birds flying around, every step is full with surprise. Even when you saw some snakes crawling or resting on vegetation, just stay cool and give them a way. Inside jungle, those bugs are the 'king'.

I never get enough with the forest. The first time I went to my field work at national park, I have to report to the office. When I told them my intention, the first thing that girl told me is "Be careful, because last week there was a crocodile escaped into the river". For a moment my mind went blur, the next moment I just "WHAT!!! Are you kidding me??" Thanks God, I still alive.

The second week, I went back to the same national park to continue my survey. The girl tole me "Be careful, cause few days ago, two sun bears escaped from their cage". WHAT THE XXXXXX!!!!! Why those animal likes to escaped from their cage when I conduct my survey at there? Is it some kind of joke on me? Once again, thanks God, I still alive. When I writing this post, the crocodile and those sun bears still wondering around inside the national park.

This is ginger flower, if I am not mistaken. This picture is wrong but end up with right. I like the effect, like a hope in the dark, very dramatic yet peaceful (what a weird combination).

I always very excited to go into jungle. Run away from the pressure and get my mind blank. Just don't go when there is raining season, you will 'amaze' by the leech troop, they are everywhere and once they get on your body, you have to pull them away. Sometime its painful when they bite you so you know there is leech on your body. At times, when you finish your jungle walk, you will find out your arm or leg is bleeding, non-stop. "Friend, you just bite by leech, no need get panic and its not what mystery case."

Photoshop day~~~~

First I have to say "I'M SO BRILLIANT!!" Ha ha.... No word can describe how I feel right now, I manage to learn photoshop (well, I'm not good in computer thing), hurray!! I took half day to discover all the thing, do and re-do, till 1 point I'm so frustrated I went to sleep. Actually, I'm struggling with my writing, kind of drive me crazy, ha ha..

So today I will introduce my buddies, everyone please meet Mr. and Mrs. J. I bought them cause they just so cute and kind of cheering me up with those innocent faces. They sit on my table, keep an eyes on my things, good work buddies, he he...

Weird creature - Moonrats

When I tidy up my pictures and i came cross to this little fellow which really interesting me. We (me and my supervisor) found it walking from the golf field toward our office building. At the first glance, I said "There is a pig!!" (please forgive my lack of common knowledge) Then I said "It looks like pig.." When it almost reach our building, I said "Its not a pig!" So I grab the camera and rush down to give this little fellow a warm welcome. (Actually I stare at it like I saw an alien, not sure what to do. Feel a bit creepy to see those feet on that body, like chicken feet on pig body?)

After doing some research,I just know he is a "moonrat", nice name huh? But it have very strong odor, that we stay 1 meter away from it. (Poor guy) It suppose to be a nocturnal animal but we found it in the middle of daytime, guess it must be so hungry and have to risk its life to come out and find for food.

In the end, me and my supervisor chase it back to the direction of the golf field. (Its a burrow animal) We believe he belong to there. I hope it can find some food for himself and don't hit by the golf. May God bless you mate!

Raining and coffee

Rain again... It have been days the sky never show the color of blue and the sun never show his face. Feel like living in a raining country. Actually I am! Sigh... What am I? A goat? (goat scare water, is it?) Nah, i love raining, it give me the reason to drink cup of coffee to warm myself up.

What people doing during raining day? Sleep?
Me : 'Boss, I take off today because my mom say don't work during raining day.'
Tell that to your boss and you are 'THE MAN'.

I hate cold day, I will eat a lot and easy to gain weight. NO!!!! Somehow likes brown bear or any hibernate animal, store fat to pass the winter/raining season? Well, I don't mind to be a squirrel, it's cute.

Only have 2 seasons over the year, hot season and rain season, I don't have much choice, such an extreme changing (just like me). Why is the earth rotate but not the country rotate, so that everyone can feel the 4 seasons life and tropical life.

Last but not least, lets cheer for the rain season now with cup of coffee.. 'Bottoms up!!'
